Trainings for Supervisors

All UC Irvine Division of Student Affairs employees are expected to review and complete specific, required trainings for their roles as listed in the University of California Learning Center (UCLC). The content below is provided to assist Division of Student Affairs People Leaders in identifying training to aid in their roles as supervisors and managers.

This is not an exhaustive list of trainings. Employees should also work with their direct supervisors to identify their specific learning and development needs and the opportunities to appropriately address their individual learning and development needs.

Required trainings and typically renewed annually. Check UCLC for your training’s status and upcoming expirations and/or renewals.

  1. UC Abusive Conduct in the Workplace
  2. UC Sexual Violence and Sexual Harassment Prevention for Supervisors, Faculty and MSP
  3. UC Cyber Security Awareness Fundamentals  *Noncompliance impacts access to multiple UCI platforms (e.g., TRS, UCPath, etc.) and impacts SA employees’ opportunities for hybrid and remote work.

  1. Leadership Success Program – Team Leaders  *Cohort Program, multiple sessions. All people leaders with job codes Supervisor 1, Supervisor 2, or Manager 1 should attend this training series.
  2. Leadership Success Program – Senior Leaders  *Cohort Program, multiple sessions. Participants must be Career Tracks level M2 and M3, and they lead supervisors, managers, and senior individual contributors under them.
  3. UC People Management Series
  4. Coaching *Requires active participation and self reflection. Contact Dr. Dwuena Wyre, SA Sr. HR Business Partner for coaching opportunities and details. Coaching services may be internal or external to UCI. SA Departments are responsible for all related fees.
